The work could be outlined as a meditation on life, death, and action.
Life as a state could be conceptualised as any imbalance of matter – at this level, life as such, defying entropy, can be defined as dynamic, as elements (atoms, molecules) combine to form larger constructs (e.g. cells), thus defying the entropy of the environment. This kind of relationship could also be referred to as the relationship between life and death, where life can be understood as an assembly of matter that defies the entropy or static 'oneness' of the environment, and death as a) the transition from a state of functional resistance to the static nature of the environment to the equilibration and merging of such a system with a uniform stationary context; or b) as a state of static (inanimate) existence itself. This very relationship can also be understood as the presence of energy, which is not annihilated in the system (the wider context), but only transited. As such, life is a dynamic carrier of energy, which turns to death when the energy that a 'living' system can no longer carry is dissipated and merges with the environment.
The work can be conceived as a representation and each living system given time and its own rhythm. The latter enables, dictates and determines its life, death is inevitable, and the spectator is given this insight as a fragment in the memory of time.
